PITCH FOR PURPOSE 2020

Our Pitch for Purpose initiative is back in 2020 to support businesses doing things differently.

TOM Organic was born through one woman’s dream and a $10,000 loan from someone who believed in her vision. Now, as a thriving business that is creating a positive impact, we want to pay it forward and support tomorrow’s entrepreneurs and their visions.

“As a successful business, it’s now our turn to support the next generation of founders who are using business as a force for good,” says TOM Organic General Manager, Brooke Franklin. “Every new idea that shows how business can exist to support communities and our planet inspires us and others.”

We’re excited to announce the 2020 edition of Pitch for Purpose, offering $10,000 to a business that is doing things not just for profit but making the world a better place.

First launching in 2017, each Pitch for Purpose has offered a monetary grant to Australian entrepreneurs creating impact through their work, such as our alumni her words and Pretty Foundation.

If you’re a start-up or entrepreneur using business as a force for good, we’d love to invite you to be part of Pitch for Purpose 2020 and turn your vision into reality.

WHO CAN ENTER PITCH FOR PURPOSE?

At TOM Organic, we believe that businesses can have a purpose beyond profit. We are passionate about driving change through the products we create (for instance, sourcing only organic cotton and using the safest ingredients for the body) and the community we engage. If more and more businesses are driven by similar commitments, we believe business can create real change in the world.

Pitch for Purpose is specifically geared towards entrepreneurs and start-ups using business as a force for good. We also accept social enterprises, but they don’t have to be offering up their profits to apply.

“There are so many start-ups fuelled by a passion for creating a positive impact,” Brooke says. “If our grant can help to get them off the ground, we’re not only supporting their success but the movement towards more conscious businesses becoming the norm.”

HOW DOES PITCH FOR PURPOSE WORK?

You can apply directly through the link below. Finalists will be chosen by TOM Organic and then we invite you, our incredible TOM community,  to cast a vote and help guide our decision on the winning recipient of Pitch for Purpose 2020.

All finalists will receive exposure across the TOM Organic brand channels and the opportunity to Pitch their business to our wider community.

The chosen recipient of Pitch for Purpose 2020 will receive a $10,000 grant to help get their business firing! In addition, they’ll receive amplification across the TOM Organic brand channels, and the opportunity to gain business insights and mentoring from the TOM Organic team.

“Our aim is to not only offer the finalist funds and support to drive their business but to use our voice to bring awareness to a range of businesses that are daring to do things differently,” Brooke says. “So if you have a vision about doing business differently, we want to hear it!”
