Bulletproof Super Tonic Smoothie

Nutritionist Bannie Williams  and author of The Smoothie Manifesto reveals her favourite recipe from her debut book and why.

The Bulletproof Super Tonic is “full of liver-cleansing ingredients – this super tonic is a nutritional force to be reckoned with. The healthy fats help promote glowing skin and the walnuts contribute to cognitive function”.

Recipe

  • 1 banana, chopped
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup kale, washed and roughly chopped
  • ¼ avocado
  • 1 medjool date, pitted
  • 4 walnut kernels
  • 1 cup coconut water

Blend until smooth and serve in a glass. Top with desiccated coconut, bee pollen and cacao nibs if desired.
